Zeb Portanova is head of strategic initiatives for GEM Mining. In addition, he serves as the CEO of GEM Opportunity Zone Fund. Prior to GEM, Zeb has held numerous leadership roles across multi-national for profit and non-profit companies, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer for Vestergaard, a global healthcare company. During his time there Zeb wrote the White Paper to tokenize Vestergaard’s 100 million annual customer base.

In 2017 Zeb invested in Matrix Mining, a blockchain and cryptocurrency mining operations, now owned by Core Scientific. Previously, he served as the President and CEO of Swiss Krono USA, one of the largest flooring and wood products companies in North America. Zeb holds a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Zeb is an active member in both the YPO Southern 7 and is the former YPO Chair for South Carolina.
